Dr Sanders performs most aspects of Cardiac and Thoracic surgery. His expertise includes:
- Thoracic: video-assisted thoracic (VAT) – keyhole surgery: lung resections (lobectomy, wedge resection), lung saving / lung sparing surgery (segmentectomy), treatment of mediastinal (thymectomy) and pleural conditions.

Dr Sanders commenced private practice in 2014 and has operated a full private practice since 2023. Originally from the Netherlands, he trained in South Africa and has practiced CardioThoracic Surgery since 1997. He moved to Australia in 2001 and worked at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital as a consultant for many years.
He is dedicated to maintaining minimal wait times for both clinical appointments and surgeries, offering a weekly clinic at Mount Medical Centre.
